Allegheny Children's Initiative, Inc. (ACI) was established in 1993 by Allegheny County Children, Youth and Families and Mental Health/Mental Retardation Departments to provide case management services for children and adolescents who needed assistance beyond the traditional array of services.
ACI teamed with Citizen Care, Inc. in March of 2000 (now a part of Partners For Quality, Inc). Since that time, ACI has expanded its continuum of services and supports and continues to provide interventions to children and families in their home, school, or other community settings.
ACI is committed to advocating for and coordinating community-based, family-oriented mental health services to children and adolescents for whom interventions and supports have been limited, not available, or unproductive. Needs are met by strengthening and empowering the individual, family, caregiver and/or community support systems. All participants are respected and recognized as equal partners in the decision-making process.
ACI is licensed and credentialed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare/Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Community Care Behavioral Health Organization, respectively.
ACI serves children and their families by providing the following services (eligibility requirements for each service included):
